We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Alliance between High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council as a Trainee Financial Technician.
This is a full time permanent position which commences by undertaking a combination of part-time formal study, alongside self-study to achieve the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, whilst working and developing practical experience in the role of Financial Technician in the finance team for both High Peak Borough Council & Staffordshire Moorlands District Council in the Alliance.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for the beginnings of a career in local authority finance which can go on to specialisms such as capital and revenue accounting, treasury management, Housing Revenue Account (HRA), collection fund, VAT, income, insurance, and accounting for collaborations. For the right candidate this could be the start of a journey to pursuing a Chartered accountancy qualification and a Finance Business Partner role with the Councils.
