Allotment Officer SO1/2 £32076 to £36648 per annum
We are looking for an enthusiastic person interested in food growing to join our allotments team on a 1-year fixed term contract. Within the City there is a massive demand for food growing space and although we have 2829 of allotment plots on 37 sites many are not used to their full potential this one-year post will be concentrating on increasing the utilization of the existing space both through applying existing procedures but also working with our main allotment volunteers Brighton and Hove Allotment Federation to explore and implement new approaches on our sites.
You will be having a lot of interaction with tenants on sites and by phone/email as you get involved in plot inspections and plot letting as well as dealing with the day-to-day maintenance and administration issues that crop up on site.
You will be based at our main office in the award winning Stanmer Park but will be required to visit sites across the city. A pool van will be available to do this at Stanmer Park or a mileage allowance can be paid for using your own vehicle.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
