West Berkshire Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality social work services to support and safeguard the well-being of children and young people.
About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Working directly with children, young people, and their families to assess needs and provide appropriate interventions.
- Ensuring the safeguarding of children and taking appropriate action to protect them from harm.
- Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to promote the best interests of children.
- Conducting assessments and reviews, and maintaining accurate and timely case records.
- Providing advice, guidance, and support to less experienced social workers.
- Contributing to the overall development and improvement of the team.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Qualified Social Worker with appropriate Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working in a similar role within a social work environment.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent assessment, intervention, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
- Positive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
