This role will be an 18 months fixed term contract, due to a permanent member of staff being seconded into another opportunity. The CA will consider applicants who would like to pursue this as a secondment opportunity.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Investment Manager to join LCRCA’s Investment and Delivery Directorate as secondment cover. The post holder will help to develop and invest in people and skills, business growth and innovation projects. We’re seeking candidates with business support or people and skills experience to deliver against current and future pipeline. Recent activity includes the delivery of £44m pipeline for UK Shared Prosperity Fund, working on Innovation Zones and an ambitious pipeline of specialist business support.
We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting the aims of the Combined Authority, who are self-starting, highly motivated, commercially minded and possess willingness to go the extra mile. Our team comes from a range of backgrounds and experience, including finance, legal, property development and management, and social economy gained in a variety of private and public sector roles.
The role provide the opportunity to influence and have impact with stakeholders, build strong relationships, and use your ideas and experience to shape policy and delivery. In addition, you will support the development of the team and wider organisation through a combination of leading and support sharing of best practice, training, line management and process improvement
Our team has some exciting working coming up over the next 18 months, including development of the CA’s longer-term investment strategy, partnership development and preparing for Integrated Settlement. The role will be varied and someone who has a strong track record in partnership development, working within a strategy implementation space as well as understanding delivery of projects is preferred. The ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
About the person
The right candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate experience and skills in the following:
- • Extensive relevant professional experience, preferably in either the monitoring, delivery or management of support interventions in community development, employment and skills or business support
- • Experience of building and strengthening external partnerships with key stakeholder and organisations
- • Experience of leading project/deal teams, providing direction and managing the performance of junior team members
- • Be self-starting, team player and highly-motivated
