The Role
We are seeking a GIS Support Analyst to join our GIS Team which is part of the wider Business Insights Service. The wider service are responsible for providing information, data and analysis across the whole council. This role will be specially around providing support to the GIS function.
In this role, you will work alongside other GIS Analysts to provide robust mapping and data transformation services for the Council. You will contribute to the accurate capture, quality and analysis of data throughout the Council. Additionally, you will collaborate with staff across different services and third-party providers for benchmarking purposes as needed. Geographical information, data, and analysis are central to our operations, helping us understand the needs of our area both now and in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Carry out daily tasks for the Data Capture service.
2) Monitor the mailbox and ensure requests are completed accurately and promptly.
3) Provide additional support to the Address and Deputy Address Custodians with address-related queries.
4) Assist colleagues with the accurate capture of Planning Application geometries.
5) Assist in periodic reviews of address positioning in line with Ordnance Survey mapping.
6) Assist with quarterly updates of the routing network.
7) Support the Street Custodian with the review of Street data.
8) Provide ad hoc project support to the GIS Team.

Essential Criteria:
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain and update GIS databases to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with GIS software such as QGIS or similar.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
