We’re seeking candidates with business support, people and skills or communities and place project experience to deliver against current and future pipeline.</p>\n<p>We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting the aims of the Combined Authority, who are self-starting, highly motivated, commercially minded and possess willingness to go the extra mile. Our team comes from a range of backgrounds and experience, including finance, legal, property development and management, and social economy gained in a variety of private and public sector roles.</p>\n<p>You will develop an approach and pipeline of projects from concept through to structuring, execution and into delivery, working as part of a team and on your own initiative. You can influence and have impact with stakeholders, build strong relationships, and use your ideas and experience to shape policy and delivery.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key role and responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engage with businesses, public authorities, third sector organisations, investors, stakeholder/membership groups and colleagues to identify new project opportunities</li>\n<li>Convene interested parties to assemble concepts into deliverable, fundable projects</li>\n<li>Lead on the development of and approach and future pipeline of projects but analysing the current pipeline and past performance and engaging with key stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Engage with project sponsors at an early stage to understand their project’s nature, key features, viability and deliverability, and engaging Combined Authority policy and analysis colleagues to understand its potential economic impact</li>\n<li>When appropriate, support the sponsor in identifying a deliverable structure and route for the project.</li>\n<li>Draft various papers including briefings, investment papers, board papers and programme updates.</li>\n<li>Identify project diligence requirements and conduct/oversee that diligence through a combination of in-house and external resources.</li>\n<li>Assist with or lead the negotiation of legal documentation and oversee the release of Combined Authority funding to the project after satisfactory release of conditions etc.</li>\n<li>Support colleagues in overseeing the financial and operational performance of signed projects and LCRCA financial commitments through regular monitoring</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential required skills and knowledge (further requirements detailed in the job specification):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience</li>\n<li>Extensive relevant professional experience, preferably in either the monitoring, delivery or management of UK Shared Prosperity Fund or similar programmes</li>\n<li>Experience of assessing project proposals with a view to their development and financing</li>\n<li>Experience of conducting due diligence and negotiating legal terms for project development/investment</li>\n<li>Experience of leading project/deal teams, providing direction and taking accountability for delivery</li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to take information from multiple sources and coalesce to provide an informed appraisal to support decision making</li>\n<li>Self-starting, team player and highly motivated</li>\n<li>Conscientious and organised, with attention to detail</li>\n<li>Commitment to equal opportunities</li>\n<li>Understanding of the UK funding environment for
