Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is a high performing Local Authority and is looking for a graduate to help ensure that the Council continues to manage its resources effectively and efficiently. You will immediately begin studying for a professional accountancy qualification, for which support will be provided. The successful candidate will assist with bank reconciliations, treasury management and supporting operational departments with their management accounts.
You will be part of a small team and will have the opportunity to cover for other roles in the department, learning how to reconcile the main bank account, create a set of management accounts and provide audit papers for statutory accounts, making the role varied and interesting. We are always looking for ways of improving our services and you will be expected to suggest ideas to enhance the processes and procedures you carry out and to implement change.
The post requires great attention to detail and accuracy, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. It is also necessary to be able work with colleagues in order to achieve strict month end deadlines. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude, who can multi-task and is willing to rise to a challenge.
