An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Community Safety Team as its Business Support Officer.
The role will support the activities of the Community Safety Team, ASB Team and other regulatory and enforcement functions within the Community Safety and Enforcement Service.&nbsp; By supporting a range of operational and strategic meetings, as well as business functions of the team, you will be integral to the delivery of the Community Safety Partnership, Domestic Abuse, Serious Violence and Prevent Boards and activity linked to problem solving.&nbsp; Other regulatory and enforcement activity will be supported including within the services other functions.
The central aim of the Community Safety Team is to improve the safety of local residents and those who work or visit the borough. The Community Safety Partnership has significant responsibilities, including having oversight of the borough’s crime reduction, anti-social behavior and domestic abuse strategy, policy and partnership developments.
The Business Support post has a key role in ensuring the effectiveness and the smooth running of all subgroups and related boards and task and finish groups. The role will work closely with the Community Safety Manager and other key stakeholders to co-ordinate and ensure effective business support for all delivery groups and related work and business support needs for the Wokingham Community Safety Partnership (CSP). This will include the co-ordinating and distribution of minutes, agendas and circulation of all related papers. Accurate record keeping and file maintenance and invoice monitoring and processing.&nbsp;
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting a range of operational and strategic meetings, to a high standard, familiarity with minute taking, experience of gathering information from a range of sources in preparation for meetings and supporting chairs of meetings in advance.&nbsp; &nbsp;Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in social care and community safety environments; is comfortable receiving and processing often sensitive and confidential information and able to work autonomously and at pace.&nbsp; The candidate will also be confident operating in an executive and political enviroment with senior leaders who attend or lead meetings.
The role offers flexible working, although some meetings require in person support, as well as facilitation of hybrid functions which the candidate will be adept at using in their work.

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-focused Subject Access Request (SAR) Officer to join our Information Governance team. In this vital role, you will manage SARs from initiation to completion across the Council (including Social Care), ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and delivering a high-quality service to our residents and clients.
You will liaise with colleagues, including senior officers, across departments to locate and assess relevant information, applying appropriate redaction with the aid of specialist technology to safeguard data before disclosure. Along with supplying the information requested to the applicant, you will need to write an accompanying letter explaining any redactions that have been made and answer any follow up queries they may have about the case.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to transparency and trust in public services. We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act, excellent communication and reading comprehension, strong analytical, organisational and multitasking abilities under pressure to meet statutory deadlines and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

<li>Logging new requests into the council’s SAR system and communicating with the applicant where necessary to verify their identity and clarify exactly what information they are looking for.</li>
<li>Collating all relevant information (in a logical order) from various sources which include but are not limited to: Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, in person file locations, Systems, etc. This will include making independent judgements as to the relevance of information to the applicant’s request.</li>
<li>Using specific technology (SmartBox.ai) to aid in redacting documents so that the applicant only receives the information they are legally entitled to. Ensuring that all third-party information and any data that pertains to an exemption is removed.</li>
<li>Liaising with the relevant individual(s) within the Council to check around any redactions or possible exempt information to ensure this is not disclosed inappropriately.</li>
<li>Issuing a response to the applicant within the statutory deadline, and closing the request on the system with appropriate categorisation(s). This will involve completing an accompanying letter that is sent to the applicant along with their material, and handling any follow up queries from them.</li>
<li>Conducting yourself in a discreet and professional manner in accordance with the Councils confidentiality policy.</li>
</ul>

<li>Ability to work at pace and manage a varied workload of multiple tasks often working to tight deadlines.</li>

The Role:
This role is to lead, manage and have principal responsibility for carrying out Street Naming and Numbering (SNN) duties in accordance with policies and best practices. This role will also be responsible for the maintenance of the corporate Geographical Information System (GIS), including data digitisation and validation, assisting in corporate GIS projects, maintaining existing GIS systems and web maps and offering specialised advice in responding to GIS and geospatial enquiries.
 This multifaceted role supports critical council operations by managing and maintaining accurate geospatial data. The role encompasses the management of Street Naming and Numbering processes. This involves overseeing the assignment of unique and consistent street names and numbers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices. This role additionally contributes to the maintenance of the Council's Geographic Information System (GIS), which includes data collection, analysis, and dissemination, as well as providing expert GIS support and guidance to various departments within the Council.
This role will report to the Corporate Applications Team Leader.
Your role will involve: • Responsible for carrying out the day-to-day administration of SNN processes / applications in accordance with all statutory requirements, there may be some collection of information on-site and consultation with statutory bodies and other interested parties (Royal Mail, developers etc.) • Lead on supporting and promoting use of the Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRN) across the Council. • Responsible for the digital map production of spatial data to support Council projects and services in providing location-based intelligence. • Responsible for creating and maintaining GIS training videos and supporting documentation
