About the Role

Exciting Opportunity in Contract Management and Commissioning

An opportunity has arisen to join the fast developing Adult Social Care Directorate’s Contract Management and Commissioning Support Unit (CMCSU). The CMCSU brings together commissioning and procurement expertise with a robust supplier and contract management approach to offer high quality, flexible and agile support to our locality based Adult Social Care commissioners. The successful applicants for the Commissioning & Contract Manager position will play a crucial part in expanding the role of the CMCSU in a rapidly changing environment.

A key part of the role will be to lead on the relationship and contract management of some of the Directorate’s biggest countywide grants, contracts and suppliers. We are looking for commercially aware people who are skilled in negotiation with national providers and who are not afraid to challenge to ensure good quality outcomes and value for money in the delivery of our commissioning intentions. A sound understanding of commissioning, procurement and contract management, ideally in a public sector health and social care setting, is essential.

The successful applicant will also be expected to collaborate with locality based Adult Social Care commissioners and Procurement colleagues to review and develop commissioning options and service specifications. To do so it is important that you are able to form effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, that you have an eye for detail and can make decisions based on evidence.
