£28,591 per annum for 36 hours per week, £14,295.50 per annum for 18 hours per week, based at Woking Borough Council Civic Offices, Gloucester Square, Woking, Surrey, GU21 6YL.

These are 6 month fixed term contract /secondment opportunities.

About the Role

You will be part of an area finance team, reporting to the Area Finance Manager and will manage the work of a small team of Finance Assistants. You will be based in the area office but you will be expected to support the social care teams in your area, therefore it is essential that you are able to travel and work from a variety of locations. You will have had experience of managing staff to ensure deadlines are met and also the ability to enable staff to meet their potential.

The Finance Advisor will also assist the Area Finance Manager in all areas of financial management and will work closely with managers across the service and in central finance to ensure budgets are controlled effectively and all financial transactions are carried out accurately and in accordance with Surrey County Council regulations and government legislation.

We are looking for candidates who...

Have a proven track record in financial management and budget analysis.

Are able to work in a fast paced front line team.

Can work as part of a team to ensure accurate and timely financial management of a large social care budgets.

Have experience of working in a public sector environment preferably with some understanding of social care.

Are able to work on their own initiated and as part of a team.

Have good interpersonal skills.

Are comfortable working with all forms of information and communication technology.
