Job Details

£10,707.50 per annum for working 18 hours per week. Working days will be all day Thursday and Friday and half a day on Wednesday.

This position is based at two locations and you will be required to work at both Guildford Borough Council, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, GU2 4BB & Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking, GU22 7QQ.

This role is a 6 month Secondment/Fixed Term contract opportunity.

About the Role

The aim of the Adult Social Care Directorate is to help people and their carers live as independently and safely as possible. The service offers a range of special skills to deliver personal care and support services throughout the 11 districts and boroughs via our Locality, Hospital and Specialist teams. This role is based within an area Finance Team but is linked to a Locality Team which will necessitate frequent visits to the Locality Office.

You will be part of a busy finance team that is integral to the delivery of services across Surrey.

The role of Finance Assistant involves working as part of a team providing financial support to ensure the efficient operation of an area Finance Team, to ensure it meets the needs of people who use the service and their Carers.

This key role involves processing invoices for services and payments and to ensure accurate and timely payment to suppliers, providers and people who use services. You will also support the team to prepare and reconcile monthly finance returns. You will be responsible for processing and reconciling payments to clients to enable them to purchase their own care via a Direct Payment and manage payments in accordance with corporate and service policies and procedures.
