Here in the Highways Contract Team, we are focussed on supporting that vision making sure that traffic can move safely and efficiently around the local highway network, bringing environmental and economic benefits – helping to make Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work .

We now need a Highways Agreements Officer to join our hard-working team. It’s your chance to shape new developments and manage projects from start to finish. What’s more, it’s your chance to do something great; to make a difference to our community by keeping the county moving.

Your main challenge is to make sure we meet our statutory duties and responsibilities in our role as Highway Authority. You’ll see that all development work on our roads observes our policies and procedures. It’s an opportunity to work with contractors, developers and their agents, making sure that all infrastructure projects happen exactly as planned.. Right now, you’ll focus on checking the technical aspects of Section 278 and Section 38 works, processing the necessary legal agreements and making sure that developers mitigate the impact of new developments.

To excel, you need to be an experienced Highways Engineer and Project Manager. You should be positive, good with people and ready to go the extra mile. You’ll also be ready for problems and genuinely up for a challenge.
