Medway Council’s Customer Contact (Initial Contact) team has a number of openings for people who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and who wish to participate in a Customer Services apprenticeship programme.

The post holders will gain a wealth of experience and knowledge and will be able to contribute to service provision in the telephone contact centre and at a range of face to face sites around Medway. The role will involve handling service requests, dealing with customer enquiries, booking appointments, and scanning or photocopying important documents. There will be some administrative duties, including dealing with post, organising meetings, agendas and appointments and taking meeting minutes.

Candidates will be comfortable dealing with phone calls in a busy contact centre and, equally, meeting customers in person and dealing with their enquiries.

A good standard of education is required, ideally educated to GCSE standard, grade C and above (or equivalent) or with an NVQ Level 2, and candidates should be willing to work towards achieving all the qualifications required to successfully complete the Advanced Apprenticeship.

Candidates will have excellent communication skills, the ability to learn and to follow procedures and to be polite and courteous at all times.
