About the Role
We are looking for an Area Schools Assistant to support the South West Surrey Area Schools Officer by providing high quality administrative services and first class customer care.
You will carry out the day-to-day administrative business of the team, undertaking a variety of tasks, having regard to the confidential nature of the work. You will have excellent IT and communication skills, along with common sense and the ability to think on your feet.
You will be the first point of contact for schools and parents when they contact our service and will support the Area Schools Officer in helping schools through problems or crises and dealing with parental issues and complaints. You will create and maintain spreadsheets to enable Local Authority staff and Elected Members to have up to date information on a range of issues. You will support the Area Schools Officer administratively with training organisation and delivery, including attending and supporting training sessions as needs be and sometimes after hours (time to be taken off in lieu).
Knowledge of the education sector or experience within public services would be an advantage. We are a high performing, busy and effective team and you will have plenty of opportunity to develop your problem-solving skills. You will need to be level-headed, self-confident and have professional integrity.
