About the Role
Woking Borough Council are seeking an experienced and proactive&nbsp;Facilities Manager&nbsp;to lead our facilities team in delivering high-quality hard and soft services across our estate. This is a key leadership role within the Property Services Team with responsibility for ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement in all aspects of facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary facilities team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.</li>
<li>Oversee the delivery of&nbsp;hard services&nbsp;(e.g., M&amp;E, building fabric, compliance) and&nbsp;soft services&nbsp;(e.g., cleaning, security, waste management, CCTV monitoring).</li>
<li>Manage and optimise&nbsp;energy usage, driving sustainability initiatives and identifying cost-saving opportunities.</li>
<li>Ensure the effective operation and maintenance of&nbsp;CCTV and security systems.</li>
<li>Develop and manage budgets, contracts, and service level agreements with external suppliers and contractors.</li>
<li>Monitor performance against KPIs and ensure compliance with health &amp; safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.</li>
</ul>
About You
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in facilities management, in a team leadership role.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of both hard and soft FM services.</li>
<li>Experience in&nbsp;energy management&nbsp;and sustainability practices.</li>
<li>Familiarity with&nbsp;CCTV systems, access control, and security protocols.</li>
<li>Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.</li>
<li>Relevant qualifications (e.g, IWFM) is essential.</li>
