You will be reporting to the Head of Adoption and Fostering (and deputising if required). The Assistant Head of Service for Adoption has a pivotal role to play in helping to meet key priorities in line with the adoption scorecard. You will head up a team of six team managers for your specific service area and will take the lead in driving operational and strategic service improvements.
You will work closely with colleagues within the service and across the social work teams to develop services. You will be expected to monitor the service to ensure targets and objectives are met.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, who is able to provide strong leadership, who has management vision and can provide team direction to support a high quality service provision to children, young people and families.
HCPC registered with a DipSW, CQSW or equivalent and a management qualification such as an NVQ4, you’ll bring significant experience of managing a children and families service, including Adoption Services. A good knowledge of national standards, regulations and legislation is vital and you’ll also bring an in-depth understanding of the relevant statutory frameworks, political processes and child protection issues. We’ll need to see evidence that you can manage complex budgets, prepare and present strategies and policy reports, and promote and implement change programmes – you should have experience of improving service quality and creating a performance-driven culture.
If you can also bring experience of partnership working and a proven ability to lead, support and motivate a team, this is a huge opportunity for you to make an impact on our service, and on thousands of young lives.
