St John's Approved Premises is a residential hostel, managed by a charitable organisation . The aim is to provide rehabilitative services to men over the age of eighteen coming out of prison , subject in the main to prison licence having served long sentences , often institutionalised with complex needs ,having committed offences of a serious nature .

Our mission, from prison release through to resettlement in the community is to reduce reoffending and to protect the public.

We are looking for two multi-talented individuals who are interested in working with people, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

In the first instance the roles will be offered on a temporary basis up to 31st March 2018.

The role will require a flexible approach working shifts, up to 148 hours a month. You will be required to work as part of a team, working day shifts and some waking night shifts to provide the hostel with double cover, remaining fully staffed over the 24 hour period. This will also require a commitment to working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Key duties will include supervising and supporting ex-offenders in the rehabilitation process, record keeping and responsibilities for security and safety of the accommodation and residents, including risk assessments, accommodation checks and monitoring. The individual will have to work in line with Approved Premises policies and procedures with regard to health and safety, confidentiality and role boundaries. We work alongside partner agencies including the National Probation Service , West Yorkshire Police and diverse drug , alcohol , treatment services as well as accommodation providers. The suitable candidates will be subject to DBS checking .

The salary scale will be £16,592 per annum plus Unsocial Hours Enhancements.
