Being a small team you may, on occasions, be required to parade in police uniform.</p>\n<p>Prevention lies at the heart of all we do and you will be called on to deal with incidents and crimes of all types both on land and sea. Regular contact with the community and other agencies play a big part in helping maintain our enviable low crime rates. You can contribute to that too, through the thorough investigation and detection of crime. </p>\n<p>Public protection is another cornerstone of how we police.  By keeping the peace, working with others and supporting and reassuring victims, you can change people’s lives for the better.</p>\n<p><strong>THE PERSON</strong></p>\n<p>The successful candidate will:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be experienced having worked within a CID unit or specialist investigatory department</li>\n<li>Be PIP2 qualified</li>\n<li>Have Successfully completed the UK National Investigators Exam or hold an equivalent recognised investigatory qualification</li>\n<li>Hold ICIDP accreditation (or equivalent)) with experience of managing complex investigations</li>\n<li>Have keen observational skills, an eye for details and a methodical and organised approach to work</li>\n<li>Be able to work both on their own initiative and as a member of a disciplined team</li>\n<li>Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal</li>\n<li>Possess good interpersonal skills</li>\n<li>Hold a grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)</li>\n<li>Have recent UK, Commonwealth, or Overseas Territories policing experience</li>\n<li>Hold a current, valid driving licence</li>\n<li>Be sufficiently physically fit enough to meet the demands of the role</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>The Package</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fixed Term Contract, up to 4 years.</li>\n<li>Salary range £28,482 - £35,172 per annum (Starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience).</li>\n<li>An additional 10% Flexible Duty Allowance over basic salary</li>\n<li>Eligibility for a 25% gratuity, paid upon successful completion of the contract</li>\n<li>30 days annual leave, plus government and public holidays (totalling 41 days leave)</li>\n<li>Relocation allowance, to help with moving costs.</li>\n<li>Flights package for you and recognised dependents at the beginning and end of contract, and additional annual return flights contingent on the duration of the contract</li>\n<li>Government housing for rent and a starter pack to help you settle in.</li>\n<li>A stimulating and supportive setting to work in and a unique and beautiful setting to live in.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Falkland Islands Government (FIG)</strong></p>\n<p>The Falkland Islands is a British Overseas Territory, with full internal self-government.</p>\n<p>As the largest employer in the Falkland Islands, we offer many unique and fulfilling job opportunities, across the full spectrum of public services.  THE ROLE
