The vacancy
Peabody is on a mission to deliver a data-driven culture that enables smarter decision-making and better outcomes for our residents and communities. As a Data Products Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the way Peabody builds, governs, and uses data.
Your day might start by working with a Product Owner or Analyst to shape data requirements and define transformation logic for a new insight product. You'll spend much of your time in Databricks, developing curated datasets across bronze, silver, and gold layers to ensure data is clean, well-structured, and optimised for reporting. You might then write automated tests, update documentation, or join a stand-up to demo your latest work. Whether collaborating on definitions, improving code quality, or delivering reliable data products, you'll play a key role in helping the organisation make better decisions through trusted data.
You'll be part of a talented and forward-thinking data team, working with analysts, architects, and stakeholders across the business to build reusable data products that are central to Peabody's transformation. If you're energised by solving complex data problems, love getting stuck into pipelines, and believe in the power of clean data, this could be the role for you.
You'll be working on the Microsoft Azure stack, particularly Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, and Data Lake Gen2. Your work will focus on building scalable, governed data pipelines, embedding automation, CI/CD principles, and quality checks throughout.
To be successful in this role, you're:
