Are you looking to take the next step of your career with a dynamic and supportive team?

Brent Housing Management is seeking detail-oriented Contract Officers to support our Property Services, contributing to the delivery of our investment, repairs, servicing, and cyclical programmes.

It’s a fantastic time to be starting at Brent Council, as we are undertaking an ambitious transformation programme across the Council which puts our community at the heart of everything we do.

About the post

As a Contract Officer, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative support to the team to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Property Services.

You’ll maintain records, supporting the maintenance of asset management data and ensure that comprehensive records are kept for monitoring performance and expenditure. You’ll manage documentation and preparations required for taking legal actions that enforce tenancy and leasehold agreements, including managing the forced entry process.

You’ll contribute to project coordination, assisting with the preparation and issue or tender documentation, consultant briefs and programmes of testing, inspections, and servicing. You’ll also monitor the performance and quality of processes, producing regular reports for stakeholders.

You’ll also ensure the accurate and timely recording of testing and inspection programmes in relation to landlord compliance, as well as manage the tenancy and leasehold enforcement process.

Further, you’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day enquiries and complaints from customers, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

The ideal candidate

You should have relevant experience in a customer service office environment, including performance monitoring and resolving service failures. Proficiency in database management, word processing, and spreadsheet packages like Microsoft Office is essential.

Additionally, you should have experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, contractors, and internal service teams.

You must be capable of managing your workload autonomously, prioritizing tasks both on-site and in the office. Strong organisational and time management skills are necessary, along with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage relationships, are crucial. You should be competent in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications, and be able to prepare statistics and assess data.

Awareness of the requirements of the Data Protection Act and the ability to work ‘on the go’ using mobile technology are also important.

Working for Brent

Brent is a vibrant London borough known for its iconic Wembley Stadium and rich cultural diversity.

We’re committed to creating a supportive and dynamic work environment where you can make a real impact.

We offer opportunities for professional development, a collaborative team culture, and the chance to be part of an innovative and forward-thinking organisation. Additionally, we operate a hybrid working model with office or on-site presence three times a week.

Apply now, or to learn more about our roles and benefits package, please visit brenthousingcareers.com.
