About the Job
Newham has 6 Sheltered Housing schemes, which are managed by a small team of officers within the Independent Living service in Housing, who provide support and assistance to enable our older and vulnerable residents to live independently. We currently have a full time vacancy for a permanent Sheltered Officer working 36 hrs per week. You will be working in a pressured, demanding but rewarding environment and you will need to ensure that the highest standards are maintained. You may be required to work at any of the 6 schemes, so flexibility is essential.
About You
Experience of working in a sheltered housing environment or of working with/caring for vulnerable older people and those living with a long term condition or a disability is desirable. The successful candidates will have the skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, staff and external agencies. You will use various computer-based systems daily and will be required to prepare and maintain up to date information for our residents.
