We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic&nbsp;Revenues Officer&nbsp;to join our successful team to work on&nbsp;Council Tax and Business Rates&nbsp;
This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £28,193 - £32,104 per annum.

The Role:
Working in our Revenues Team, you will report to a Senior Revenues Officer and the Revenues Team Leader.
Your role will involve:

<li>Working within a team dealing with all aspects relating to the accurate and prompt processing of work associated with Council Tax and Business Rates, from the creation of properties or accounts in the databases to the recovery and enforcement of Council Tax and Business Rate arrears.</li>

<li>&nbsp;Ensuring that matters relating to Council Tax and Business Rates are dealt with promptly, balancing the need to support the delivery of a personalised service to residents with the need to protect the council’s financial interests</li>
</ul>

Being able to communicate effectively and courteously with members of the public and other council departments in writing, by phone, or in person</li>
</ul>
What we are looking for:
<ul>
<li>You will have experience of administering Council Tax and/or Business Rates accounts.</li>
<li>You will have experience of a council tax system, preferably the Capita Academy System</li>
<li>You will be able to produce clear and concise written communication.</li>
<li>You will have the ability to meet challenging deadlines</li>
<li>You will be able to undertake repetitive and high volume of tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.</li>
<li>You will be able to work both as part of a team and also on own with minimal supervision.</li>

We have a fantastic opportunity to available for a Financial Assessment Officer to join our Financial Assessments &amp; Payments Team within Adult Social Care here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, 12-month fixed term contract.
As Financial Assessment Officer, you will be part of the Financial Assessments &amp; Payments Team within Adult Social Care. This role is responsible for determining whether individuals are required to contribute financially towards the cost of their care, in accordance with the Council’s policy and the Care Act. Where applicable, the role also involves ensuring that individuals receive their full entitlement to welfare benefits and allowances.

Key responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Conducts financial assessments and annual reviews under the Council’s Charging Policies and other legal frameworks, through desk-based work, in accordance with defined legislation, procedures and timescales so that the Council may correctly charge for social services care packages, respite and residential care.</li>
<li>Ensure that assessments and case visits are dealt with correctly and in a timely manner, giving advice and guidance as required</li>
<li>To obtain, record, review, verify and collate financial information/evidence for financial assessment and to undertake all aspects of the financial assessment work both for non-residential adult social care charging and Charging for Residential accommodation within agreed timescales to meet team targets. This could be through a variety of channels including home visits, appointments at the Council’s Offices, e-mail, post, or telephone.</li>
<li>Keep updated with current legislation and government changes, specifically in connection with the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.</li>
<li>To help train and coach colleagues on the team including new colleagues and cross training within the team as well as attendance at relevant meetings.</li>
</ul>
