We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our team on a part-time basis. The role of the Compliance Officer is to protect and maximise the Council Tax/Business Rate base by undertaking risk based reviews of all discounts, exemptions and reliefs, including Local Council Tax Support, to ensure that they are granted correctly and that where incorrect, the reduction, discount or exemption is removed or reduced accordingly, and where appropriate impose penalties in line with policies and legislation. The Compliance Officer will also be responsible for investigating fraud preparing reports including conducting Interviews under caution and for undertaking occasional compliance visits and regularly assist in the production of no tolerance and seasonal publicity campaigns.Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship.

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Revenues &amp; Benefits team as a Revenue &amp; Benefits Officer.
In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll manage a diverse caseload, ensuring cases are handled efficiently and in line with statutory regulations, policies, and procedures. Ideally, you’ll bring experience from a local government setting and have knowledge of Revenues &amp; Benefits systems and document management tools—but we’re also keen to hear from candidates with strong administrative skills and a willingness to learn.
You’ll need to be confident working with data, maintaining accurate records, and using Microsoft Office and web-based systems. Experience in administering Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax discounts and exemptions would be a strong advantage.
This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Debt Resolution Officer&nbsp; £32,535 - £33,987 per annum (pro rata) Permanent Part-Time 18 hours per week About Us OneSource Debt Resolution Services is a shared serviced partnership between The London Borough of Newham and the London Borough of Havering. This in-house Enforcement Team, operates within the M25 and is responsible for the collection of a variety of Council debts, including Council Tax, Road Traffic and Business Rates. About the Job We have an excellent opportunity for a Debt Resolution Officer to join our evening/weekend contact call centre team, to collect payments, negotiate payment plans and handle queries from customers regarding various debt types. This position is for 18 hours per week, &nbsp;Wednesday - Friday 5pm - 9pm and Saturday 8am - 2pm. About the Candidate You will be required to have excellent&nbsp;communication and negotiation skills, your primary function will be to handle inbound telephone calls and to conduct outbound telephone calling to secure payment from defaulters. You may be asked to answer correspondence from debtors along with dealing with e-mail and live chat. You will have experience of debt collection, and have worked in the same or similar environment. You should have the ability to deal with difficult calls, and have good written and verbal skills. Understanding of the Tribunal Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 is desired but full training will be provided to the successful candidates.
