These are exciting times for South Bucks and Chiltern District Councils’ new joint property service. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Building Surveyor to join us, bringing a fresh perspective and new ideas to this vital area of the Councils’ work.
The Estates Team manages a diverse property portfolio of commercial property including the Councils’ offices, leisure centers and other operational property plus farmland and woodlands.
We offer a friendly, supportive working environment set in beautiful countryside within striking distance of London, Oxford and major travel routes.
The successful candidate will have an RICS or CIOB accredited degree in Building Surveying and have at least 3 years PQE. In practical terms you will be competent in analysing defects in commercial and leisure sector buildings, writing specifications for building repairs and improvements and have a good working knowledge of building and planning legislation, CDM and the JCT Suite of Building Contracts. Professionally you will be able to deliver and manage construction projects from commencement to completion within approved budgets and timetables.
You’ll be hard-working and committed to delivering high quality, professional property services. You will need to be flexible, have good communication skills, eager to make a difference and able to work on your own initiative to deal with diverse projects and prioritise accordingly.
