We are committed to supporting our partners to develop a strong understanding of the safeguarding responses that adult social care provides and how to enable people to access these in line with our Care Act duties.</p>\n\n<p>This new role of Safeguarding Development Officer has been developed to increase our safeguarding development offer and sits within the Resources Safeguarding and Performance area of Housing Care and Wellbeing directorate.</p>\n\n<p>You will be working directly alongside the Head of Adult Safeguarding to develop this innovative new role, supporting a wide range of strategic tasks and projects working to an established safeguarding development service plan. Tasks will include co working on directorate project work, gathering information from a wide range of sources, providing analysis of this to form evidence based conclusions. You will take part in multi agency audits, facilitating group discussions and forming recommendations regarding future actions and improvements. You will support the work of the Sussex wide Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures group co writing chapters and reviewing content. You will support the Head of Safeguarding and work with other directorate colleagues in considering Safeguarding Adults Review learning and provision of learning opportunities. You will create and sustain opportunities to work with our partners to encourage a clear understanding of the work of adult social care, of our safeguarding duties under the Care Act and our offer to the community, making opportunities for educational support in this area.</p>\n\n<p>You will be working with a diverse range of stakeholders including internal colleagues and external partners including the Safeguarding Adults Board and the Safeguarding procedures group.</p>\n\n<p>You will be someone who</p>\n\n<p>- Has a relevant qualification in social work</p>\n\n<p>- has well established safeguarding adults experience and expertise</p>\n\n<p>- is passionate about good quality person-centred safeguarding multi agency practice and assurance</p>\n\n<p>- has a strong interest and commitment in developing and maintaining significant strategic partnership working</p>\n\n<p>You will have working knowledge of relevant national and local policy, statutory guidance and legislation in relation to safeguarding adults and provision of services and of the role and statutory responsibilities of the Safeguarding Adults Board</p>\n\n<p>You will benefit from regular reflective supervision and support, the opportunity to enable your learning and development needs and creativity taking forward a new role in the directorate.
