We are looking to appoint a committed and motivated part-time Caretaker to join our dedicated Site Maintenance Team responsible for ensuring that our school provides a safe, welcoming and purposeful environment for staff, students and visitors. The postholder will be expected to participate in school activities and events across the school and will help support the upkeep of the school premises and grounds alongside a team of three, reporting to the Head of Facilities. The postholder will be responsible alongside the team for Security &amp; Safety, Energy Management, Porterage &amp; Maintenance; and will work to Health &amp; Safety legislation at all times with an ability to demonstrate a wide range of practical skills. To support events and lettings out of normal school hours, a shift allowance will be offered.&nbsp;

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Caretaker to join our school.&nbsp; Our school is where students enjoy and achieve during their time here and we strive to ensure our colleagues are motivated, happy, supported and have satisfaction from their role.&nbsp;
The purpose of the Caretaker role is to help maintain the smooth operation of the school, ensuring that it is a comfortable, safe, and secure environment for all our students, staff, and visitors alike.
Responsibilities include maintaining the school building, including the multi-use games area (MUGA), the outside hard play surfaces, carrying out repairs, improvements, and general maintenance tasks to ensure the school and site are maintained in a satisfactory condition that meets the required standards.
Predominately working from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, this role does have on call duties on a rota basis ad has a requirement to cover holidays and absences where necessary.&nbsp; It is essential therefore that you are able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility.

The Learning Partnership along with the Principal at Wistaston Church Lane Academy wish to appoint a motivated, committed and highly effective Assistant Caretaker to join our hard working and enthusiastic team.
Key duties will include:
<ul>
<li>Ensuring that the site and its buildings are locked and secured at the end of the day.</li>
<li>Maintaining and cleaning parts of the school daily.</li>
<li>Acting as a designated key holder for the school premises.</li>
<li>Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance, including painting and decorating.</li>
<li>Undertaking general portage duties, including moving furniture and distributing items to the appropriate place.</li>
<li>Taking action where Health and Safety hazards are identified.</li>
<li>Basic grounds maintenance – snow clearing, gritting, litter picking, bin emptying.</li>
<li>Emergency attendance in case of alarms.</li>

Other duties as required
Please note that this position is full year, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement.
The working hours are 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday. This is 15 hours per week.
(Hours can be flexible during the summer holidays. We may request that, on occasion, the post holder is flexible during term time, to help manage the building during later evening events in school).
