37 hours per week Salary starting from £11,043.98 dependant on age. 18 months fixed term training contract with the possibility of further training
North West Leicestershire District Council is looking to employ a Modern Apprentice within our Housing Asset Management Team to assist in carrying out carpentry and joinery work associated with the repairs, maintenance & adaptation of Council properties. You will learn to undertake all work to a competent recognised standard & current regulation, with minimal risk to Health & Safety of all those it may effect.
Training will be provided by Stephenson College working towards NVQ level 2.
You must have the ability to man handle portable plant equipment & materials and to understand & interpret manufacturer’s installation instructions. You should be able to work with different access equipment and work at heights after training. The ability to problem solve and deal with difficult situations is also a requirement.
You should be physically able to gain access and carry out work in difficult locations, willing and committed to undertake all training as required via the College and Council.
Initial assessments will be taken at the College.
