What will you be doing?The Lodge offers residential breaks for children in Kent from the age of 12 to 18 years old, who have learning disabilities and/or Autism, and will have some additional support needs. These may include health related needs, mental health, behaviours of concern, and help with every day tasks.We always support children to have fun with their friends and peers, to learn skills, make choices, and to be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, so that they, and their families, can have a break.We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, who are able to work as part of a busy team providing a high standard of leadership skills. Whilst creating a safe, nurturing, fun environment for children and young people of varying needs and enthusiasm to learn new skills and gain new experiences.This role includes the undertaking of personal care, administration of medication and sleeping in between shifts, which you receive an enhancement for.To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:<ul><li>Can lead a shift whilst leading by example to the team and children/young people</li><li>Has completed or is willing to undertake the Diploma level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent</li><li>Can put training and knowledge into practice</li><li>Has excellent time management skills with a non-bias approach when on shift</li><li>Is willing to undertake training in medication management and keep competencies up to date. What will you be doing?Sunrise Children’s Centre offers short breaks for children and young people with Disabilities, some of whom have additional needs, including behaviours that challenge and complex health needs.We are seeking a part-time cook for 15 hours per week, to prepare and plan meals within nutritional and dietary guidelines, ensuring meals are cooked and served in a timely manner following safe food hygiene standards.You will be asked to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen, complying with Health &amp; Safety requirements, checking equipment and ordering supplies.A Level 3 qualification in Food Safety is required. An exciting opportunity has become available at Hadlow College for a Residential Support Officer to join our dedicated residential team who were rated outstanding by Ofsted in June 2024. You’ll play a key role in supporting the wellbeing and personal development of students living on campus, many of whom are experiencing independent living for the first time.
Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll help deliver high-quality pastoral care and encourage student engagement in both academic life and a wide range of personal and social development opportunities. This includes involvement in Learner Voice initiatives, the Student Union, and Health &amp; Wellbeing activities.
This position follows a rota-based schedule during term time, with shifts ranging between 8am and 1am. You will also be part of an emergency ‘on-call’ rota, typically covering one shift per week.
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive engagement of residential students.</li>
<li>Support students in adjusting to independent living and participating in college life.</li>
<li>Help plan, coordinate, and deliver a varied enrichment programme tailored to students’ needs.</li>
<li>Promote a safe and inclusive environment, upholding behaviour standards and safety procedures.</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For:
<ul>
<li>A strong understanding of student welfare and safeguarding, with knowledge of relevant legislation and residential provision standards (training will be provided).</li>
<li>Minimum Level 3 qualification in a related field such as social care, youth work, mentoring, or informal education.</li>
<li>At least Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.</li>
<li>Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.</li>
<li>A genuine ability to connect with students and collaborate effectively with staff and external partners.</li>
<li>Experience in education or residential settings, and awareness of challenges affecting student engagement, is desirable.</li>

The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Hadlow College campus.
Your hours: 37 hours available per week, 52 weeks per annum – To be worked on a shift rota basis, which covers from 5.30pm on Sundays to 7pm on Fridays.
