We are an expert dynamic Commissioning Service committed to strategically developing and procuring the best quality and most economically advantageous Adult Social Care services for the residents of Newham. We work with providers either through commissioning activity or market development facilitation to ensure that a diverse range of services are available to promote positive outcomes for local people. Commissioning Officer £34,935 - £37,851 pa The role will support Commissioners in the development, commissioning and procurement of high quality Adult Social Care services, which are of best value and which meet identified local need in line with nationally and locally agreed strategic priorities across the whole Adult Social Care and Health portfolio. The Commissioning Officer will be required to provide support to Commissioners in all aspects of the Commissioning Cycle, ensuring the involvement of key stakeholders, analysis and presentation of data and supporting financial management of budgets for commissioned services. This is an important and challenging role with an expectation of fast paced delivery. Candidates must be able to demonstrate: - an understanding of the developing national and local landscape in relation to both Adult Social Care and Health; - knowledge of the commissioning cycle from service review / redesign, to procurement, to contract management; - proven skills in negotiation, problem solving, communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and stakeholders; - experience of commissioning and procurement in Social Care, Health or closely related fields.
