The council is looking for three talented Senior Communications Officers. You will lead a small team to design and deliver creative and insightful communication campaigns. You’ll be involved in explaining council plans and services – so local people know what we’re doing, how they can get involved and how they can take advantage of some of our services. You’ll also be involved in managing complex or sensitive issues. It’s a chance to find your greatness by keeping the people we serve informed.
You’ll be part of a vibrant Comms team that’s leading the way in digital communications. Heading up a small part of the team, you’ll plan and manage our core communications, creating multi-channel campaigns for a group of council services. With the council continually delivering new projects for the community, you’ll have plenty of exciting things to share. The key is to forward plan with the services you support and guide your team to produce outstanding work. You’ll also be our resident expert, giving colleagues and Members appropriate and meaningful advice.
Educated to degree standard in a relevant subject, you’ll have worked in Local Government before. You know how to create insightful campaigns, target different audiences and develop successful communication strategies. With good news sense and editorial skills too, you’ll be adept at crafting messages both for sensitive and positive stories. Such expertise will make you a credible advisor for the Council. Proactive, creative and driven, you’ll think ahead and plan to meet our diverse needs in the future.
