<p>We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual to join University of the Built Environment at an exciting time of growth, ensuring our vision remains at the forefront. As the Internal Communications Lead, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an internal communications and engagement service, ensuring staff are consistently informed and valued. You will be integral in inspiring and informing staff, ensuring we continue to effectively communicate our vision, our success and our impact on the built environment.</p>
<p>Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide strategic direction and leadership on the development of the University's internal communications strategy</li>
<li>Create and deliver targeted communication frameworks that support organisational change, enhance employee engagement, and foster a shared sense of purpose</li>
<li>Equip University managers with tailored communication tools and content, enabling a consistent, two-way flow of information that enhances leadership visibility, encourages dialogue, and supports a collaborative organisational culture</li>
<li>Plan and deliver a range of staff engagement activities and events that reinforce strategic priorities, strengthen the University as a community and inspire staff to contribute to the University's growth and success</li>
</ul>

<p>We have a great opportunity for acopywriter on a full time, fixed-term basis.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We are looking for someone who loves words! Someone who is passionate about making dull, dry and long text into something bite-sized and interesting to read. If you know how to turn chunks of text into snappy copy, we want to hear from you. Part of the role will be encouraging others to improve their writing for a range of audiences, so it is essential to understand how to support and inspire people to produce clear, accessible text and strong copy.</p>
<h3>About the team…</h3>
<p>The Communications and Marketing team are a small and supportive team that works well together. We collaborate effectively with people right across the organisation and beyond. We are always looking at better, more modern and smarter ways of communicating with our residents, this includes making our communications and marketing easy to read and accessible.</p>
<p>We don’t do fluffy PR, we do important, real-time communications and marketing that have an impact on our residents’ and community’s day-to-day life. We communicate about the things that matter and what people need to know. You will be trusted to take ownership of your work, your time and managing key stakeholders, with support available if you get stuck.</p>
<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>To write and edit copy in line with accessibility standards and house-style for a range of mediums and channels.</li>
<li>To edit and proof documents, including strategies, presentations and policies, to ensure copy is easy to read, jargon free, accessible and relevant.</li>
<li>To produce the council’s annual hardcopy residents’ magazine, weekly e-magazine, and staff magazines. This includes copywriting, editing and proofing, as well as working with relevant suppliers and designers.</li>
<li>To oversee the content of service led council e-newsletters to ensure they are accurate, professionally written and accessible for the relevant audience.</li>
<li>To set up and run regular drop-in and training sessions for staff to troubleshoot issues with copy and text, and provide solutions, advice and templates.</li>
