The RFC works in partnership with the Royal Free Trust Hospital, Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital by ‘let’s make today feel better’ for all users of the hospitals. We raise and spend millions every year, which supports pioneering research that revolutionises patient care through to everyday improvements in hospital services and facilities.

We are now seeking to appoint a Community Fundraiser, who will be based at the Royal Free office, whose main responsibilities will be:

  1. responsible for the identification, planning and co-ordination of successful fundraising events
  2. involved in the community fundraising promotion of the Charity
  3. first point of contact for fundraisers and fund holders wishing to fundraiser

We are looking to recruit a brilliant individual, who can support and help us implement our short and longer-term strategies, you will demonstrate the following experience and skills:-

  • Educated to A-level and / or graduate level
  • Previous experience
    • minimum 1 year, ideally 2 years proven experience of meeting fundraising targets through event and activity fundraising
    • organising small and large scale events
    • being able to work independently to an agreed work plan
  • Knowledge of good working practice in community fundraising and event management
  • Excellent:-
    • communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with staff, volunteers and public
    • numeracy skills and confident handling moderate sums of cash
    • problem solving skills
    • IT skills
  • Ability to:-
    • prioritise, organise and manage workload effectively whilst dealing with unplanned interruptions
    • accurately input and handle data entry
    • follow instructions and adhere to Charity and Trust policies
  • Honest, flexible and trustworthy
  • Available to work occasional weekends and evenings
