We are seeking to appoint an 18.5hrs per week Marketing and Publicity Officer within the Community Learning Team.

The North Somerset Council Community Learning Team is part of a wider South West Community Learning Consortium with Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council. The function of the team is to provide appropriate courses to vulnerable adults who have few or no formal qualifications (below level 2) to enable positive and inclusive outcomes such as progression to further learning, volunteering and employment.

Applicants should have a good knowledge of the purpose of Community Learning and of the barriers faced by target learners. You will be confident in producing inclusive and eye catching marketing materials and have the ability to write informatively and engagingly in plain English. You will have a good knowledge and understanding of the local area and be confident and competent in the effective use of social media. You will be able to effectively organise marketing events for target groups and partner organisations

Vocational qualification or experience to level 2 is required.

Willingness to undertake further relevant qualification training.

A sound understanding of the needs of vulnerable learners and learners without a level 2 qualification.
