<h3>Our Project:</h3>
Jealott’s Hill Community Landshare is a successful and well-established, award-winning community project based in Warfield, Bracknell Forest. Our focus is on peoples’ wellbeing, gardening and the outdoor environment.
We are brilliantly supported by a dedicated and passionate team of volunteers who, led by the Landshare Manager, utilise their gardening and other practical creative skills to plant and maintain our 6-acre site. Sharing their knowledge, they grow vegetables, fruit and flowers, tend our large orchard, help run events and grow plants to sell, alongside creating items for our pop-up shop. Our primary aim is to provide support and empowerment for a diverse group of volunteers from the community in East Berkshire including those with autism, learning and physical disabilities and those seeking to improve their mental and physical health by connecting with nature. The beneficiaries include individuals in addiction recovery, with dementia, and offenders on community service, as well as ordinary citizens looking for horticultural and outdoor environmental activity. All are volunteers and come to us for many reasons including loneliness and isolation and find that by working and sharing together community engagement is enhanced, gardening and other skills learnt, and lives transformed.

<h3>The Role:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Reporting to the Directors you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Landshare, including the cultivation, maintenance and use of all areas of the site, a variety of facilities and tools.</li>
<li>Working with the Directors you will ensure that the Landshare presents a safe, welcoming opportunity for all visitors and volunteers.</li>
<li>With the Directors you will lead on liaising with the local community, recruiting and supporting volunteers, marketing our services and managing those on site.</li>
<li>Our part time Horticutural Assistant will report to you.</li>
</ul>
This role is an exciting opportunity for a confident, experienced manager with an interest in both gardens and people. You will be able to make a meaningful impact by fostering well-being through gardening and other outdoor activities.
<h3>Main Duties:</h3>
<ul>
<li>To coordinate and motivate a diverse group of volunteers, facilitating their growth, knowledge and development as appropriate.</li>
<li>To manage and support the Horticultural Assistant alongside the volunteer Gardening Co-ordinator.</li>
<li>To optimise the safe use of the Landshare by varied groups and agencies on an ad-hoc and sessional basis, negotiating contracts and funding for such.</li>
<li>To work closely with the Directors on both day-to-day and strategic matters.</li>
<li>To act as an ambassador for the Landshare with external organisations and at events.</li>
<li>To liaise with the Treasurer and designated administrative volunteers on the financial and administrative tasks associated with the day to day running of the Landshare, including record keeping and local small scale fund-raising.</li>
<li>To be fully involved in communication and to contribute to making a positive and up to date social media profile for the Landshare.</li>
<li>To report monthly to the Director’s meeting.</li>
<li>To be the Landshare’s primary contact with the Landowner Syngenta.</li>
<li>To take overall responsibility for running Events.</li>
<li>To provide practical guidance and hands on support, when required, to get tasks done.</li>
<li>To cover for the Horticultural Assistant in their absence.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Preferred Person Specification:</h3>
It is hoped that candidates will be able to demonstrate some skill and ability in the majority of these areas, which may have been gained in a voluntary or work capacity.
<ul>
<li>Experience of community project management and development also safe and effective event management.</li>
<li>Experience of managing volunteers and the ability to motivate and encourage and support those with a range of backgrounds and abilities, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.</li>
<li>Experience of working with people with vulnerabilities and disabilities.</li>
<li>Patience, understanding, empathy and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a collaborative way treating everyone with respect and maintaining confidentiality.</li>
<li>Strong communication, organisational, and collaborative skills.</li>
<li>Proficiency in administrative tasks, a variety of IT software tools, social media and basic book-keeping.</li>
<li>Understanding of health and safety and legislative requirements.</li>
<li>Coaching and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the health and social care system and experience of collaboration with health and social care professionals.</li>
<li>Some experience and knowledge of horticulture and cultivation, with at least basic DIY skills.</li>
<li>Common sense, pragmatism and a willingness to use your initiative and work independently within the aims of the Landshare.</li>
<li>Creativity and the ability to ‘think outside the box’.</li>
<li>Experience of working flexibly - multi-tasking and good time management.</li>
<li>Comfortable with working out of doors in all weathers.</li>
<li>Live local to the Landshare.</li>
<li>First Aid trained (or willing to undergo training).</li>
<li>Be willing to undertake an enhanced disclosure check</li>
</ul>
<h3>Terms and Conditions:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Part-time, 21 hours per week, initially for a six-month term.</li>
<li>Flexible hours to meet the project’s requirements: on site Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and one Saturday morning per month.</li>
<li>Salary - £20 per hour.</li>

This role is expected to provide an efficient and effective service of parking enforcement in our borough car parks, in order to minimise Parking Contraventions through the issue of penalty charge notices in appropriate cases, in accordance with the Council’s objectives, policies and the Parking Order.
The candidate will hold the relevant qualification to carry out Civil Enforcement (Level 2 Award, City and Guilds), be conversant with Civil Enforcement legislation and procedures, and be polite and capable of representing a positive and helpful image for Spelthorne Borough Council to our residents and customers.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for customer facing posts.&nbsp; These posts fall within the scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.&nbsp; The Council, therefore, has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. Key responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Lead on contract and performance management for the Prime Contractor selected to deliver Connect to Work across Berkshire. Acting as the main liaison for the Prime Contractor and any subcontractors engaged</li>
<li>Establish and maintaining strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders from the voluntary and health sector aligning programme to local objectives and ensuring strong referral pathways are established</li>
<li>Co-ordinate the integration of Connect to Work across the Berkshire Boroughs by overseeing the Integration Leads in each LA, bring them together for regular meetings and working to a collective action plan.</li>
<li>Develop, implement and maintain systems and processes to maximize service quality and compliance. This includes undertaking a range of monitoring and performance meetings, analysing data and reports and escalating any concerns to the wider Accountable Body Management group</li>
<li>To establish a Connect to Work Partnership Board, preparing and presenting reports to establish a transparent regular flow of information</li>
<li>Take an active role in representing Berkshire Connect to Work at various stakeholder meetings, confidently presenting updates on the programme and driving employer and referral engagement</li>
</ul>
Candidate requirement:

<li>Extensive experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders</li>
<li>An understanding of Individual Placement support and/or Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) and the Fidelity Quality Assurance models</li>
