Hackney Council is looking for an exceptional Community Safety and Enforcement Principal Enforcement Officer (PEO) within our Community Safety, Enforcement and Business Regulation Service&nbsp;in a 1-year Fixed Term Contract.
You will be part of a broader and more inclusive service, in the delivery of joined-up, accountable and timely management of enforcement action in line with legislation and Council Policies and Procedures.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can demonstrate that they can undertake case management under pressure and carry out a wide range of enforcement duties in relation to Noise, Community Safety, Anti-Social Behavior, Street Scene, and environmental enforcement (Fly tipping, Graffiti, Fly posting,&nbsp; and Littering, Highway obstructions etc.), and wider general public realm enforcement as required.&nbsp;
You will be assigned wards to address localised problems, challenging and changing behaviours to contribute to the achievement of the Mayor’s priorities, and the Council’s corporate objectives.&nbsp;We are seeking a team player who can effectively manage and assess the role's priorities and demands, with a focus on service delivery. You may not be an expert in all the different enforcement duties and legislation mentioned above; however, we will consider applications that show experience in effective case management in some of these areas and show the ability to transfer those skills.&nbsp;You must be able to demonstrate your ability to deal with complainants and victims of Anti Social Behaviour skillfully and sensitively, which helps progress the cases, listen to concerns, and manage expectations.
You must also be able to maintain accurate service-specific records to ensure compliance with our reporting obligations. You will need a proactive approach, be driven and have excellent communication skills.
You will be reporting to an Enforcement Manager. You will be working alongside a team of other Principal Enforcement Officers, Enforcement Officers ( in uniform), and Technical Support, as well as the wider Community Safety and Business Regulation Service, to provide the best service possible to residents and the public in the London Borough of Hackney.&nbsp;

About the Role
Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and supporting community events? Key Responsibilities

You will also be responsible for overseeing management of the Spelthorne Resource Centre acting as the principle point of contact for temporary staff.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of arts and heritage programming. Someone with a can-do attitude, willingness to work independently and as part of a team, with a passion for community development and the ability to manage casual staff and volunteers.
You will be comfortable working with spreadsheets and databases and be able to interpret and convey complex information in plain English for a variety of audiences.

The Listening Place is a volunteer-led charity aiming to transform how we support people who feel suicidal.&nbsp;Our trained volunteers are part of a team delivering face-to-face, confidential, ongoing support to thousands of people each year.&nbsp; They help create the warm and welcoming environment that encourages people struggling with suicidal thoughts and feelings to talk openly without being judged or given advice.&nbsp; &nbsp;
We are looking for Listening Volunteers to join our team at our new site based near Liverpool Street. Listening Volunteers provide ongoing face-to-face support to visitors on regular, fortnightly 4-hour shifts during which they meet with up to 3 visitors (for up to 50 minutes each). In order to ensure continuity for our visitors we require a one-year minimum commitment from our LVs, as well as three months’ notice of intention to leave.
No experience or qualifications are necessary – we provide full training in active listening.&nbsp; We look for warmth, empathy and resilience in our volunteers and the ability to be non-judgemental and avoid giving advice.
We are primarily recruiting Listening Volunteers for our new site near Liverpool Street. We also have limited vacancies available at our other sites in Hammersmith, Pimlico and Kings Cross.

We are looking for Helping Volunteers to join our team at our new site based near Liverpool Street. Helping Volunteers are responsible for welcoming visitors onto our premises, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere (along with a cup of tea), and supporting our Listening Volunteers to help everything run smoothly.
We are looking for volunteers who have the empathy to greet distressed visitors, the willingness to undertake a variety of admin and other tasks and the resilience to support their team.&nbsp; Our HVs need to be proactive, self-starters and team players with a basic understanding of IT. We ask for a weekly commitment of four hours for a period of at least six months.
