About the Role
As the Senior Community Safety Officer, you’ll lead the delivery of the district’s Community Safety Partnership Plan, working with statutory agencies, voluntary groups, and residents to tackle key issues such as:

Key Responsibilities

<li>Coordinate the Community Safety Unit (CSU) and partnership forums</li>
<li>Chair key panels (e.g. Case Reviews, and Community Safety Executive Panel) and attend strategic meetings</li>

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with:

<li>A relevant degree or equivalent experience in community safety, enforcement, or public service</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of legislation including the Counter Terrorism and Security Act, ASB Act, and Crime and Disorder Act</li>
<li>Experience in partnership working, enforcement, and community engagement</li>
<li>Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills</li>
<li>Ability to work in a political environment and manage sensitive issues</li>
<li>Write detailed reports and present them to Members, Senior Management and the Leadership Team, analyse data and consider reactive supportive measures, identify trends or changes and feed back to management and partner agencies</li>

About the role…
As a Community &amp; Wellbeing Worker you will play a key role in delivering Rutland’s physical health and wellbeing offer. Duties include:

<li>Working closely with partners to reduce health inequalities, increase physical activity, and improve access to services across all communities.</li>
<li>Developing and delivering evidence-based physical activity and wellbeing programmes for children, young people, adults, and families—supporting both prevention and early intervention.</li>
<li>Coordinating and delivering a range of early and focused support through groupwork and 1:1 interventions, including physical activity-based sessions.</li>
<li>Supporting and promoting the physical health, mental health, and wellbeing offer available across Rutland.</li>
<li>Collaborating with volunteers, community groups and multi-agency partners to deliver impactful, innovative solutions focused on active lifestyles and improved wellbeing.</li>

As a Community and Wellbeing Worker, you will be required to work flexibly, when the community needs support. A full UK driving license is required to enable the post holder to travel around the county. Evening and weekend work may also be required.

This is an exciting time to work for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and High Peak Borough Council (The Alliance) as we are committed to improving parks and green spaces and increase opportunities around physical activity for the benefit of residents.
Set in the context of new emerging strategies, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the Council’s Move More and Parks/Green Spaces Strategies, through an approach of positive community engagement and support, effective team and partnership working and local collaboration.
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who can support the development and delivery of projects identified within both Council’s key strategies and other related strategic documents. Demonstrating knowledge and practical experience of engaging with local communities in order to support and encourage people to move more and engage positively with our parks and green spaces.
Building effective relationships and partnerships the postholder will help to identify and support key members of the community to act as leaders and motivators in encouraging people to increase movement and engage in parks/green space related initiatives.
The successful candidate will also be required to represent The Alliance at meetings with internal and external stakeholders i.e. service users, other Council services, clients, consultants, contractors and other working groups therefore strong advocacy, interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.
This position will primarily focus on the Staffordshire Moorlands area; however, the successful candidate will also play an important role in supporting work across both Staffordshire Moorlands and High Peak as part of The Alliance.
