Hertsmere Borough Council are recruiting for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our existing team.
You will be required to patrol the streets and car parks and to carry out enforcement against illegally parked vehicles.&nbsp; You will also provide advice to members of the public and check that parking machines and equipment are in good working order.
The successful applicant will enjoy working outside and will be someone who can deal with members of the public in a helpful and diplomatic manner.&nbsp; You will need to use computerised equipment and personal safety equipment and gain an understanding of the legal requirements of the job.&nbsp; Applicants need to have a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.&nbsp; Full training will be given so previous experience in a similar role is not essential.
The post is offered on a full time permanent basis (36 hours per week). Your working week will include some Saturday, Sunday and early evening working. There will be an enhanced rate for Sunday working and some opportunities for overtime.

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Area Regeneration Manager to work across a wide range of Area Regeneration projects and programmes. &nbsp; Initially the successful candidate will lead the Council’s work programme in the Kilburn area.&nbsp; One Kilburn is a grassroots network that unites citizens, businesses and institutions to facilitate participation and social action focused on the things that matter most to people in Kilburn, whether in the borough’s of Brent, Camden or Westminster.&nbsp; Starting three years ago as a ‘Community Improvement District’ pilot, the partnership has been building connections and supporting a range of local initiatives and community-led regeneration projects.&nbsp; Enabled by Camden Council with a strong emphasis on an inclusive participatory approach, regular open to all meetings are hosted, in addition to a range of issue specific sub-groups, including coordination, places and spaces, transport and communications.&nbsp; Examples of projects delivered so far include the re-activation of a vacant buildings for community use/ local benefit; the One Kilburn Community Fund which is supported a number of projects across the &nbsp;themes of local film making, photography, environmental sustainability and social connection; development of&nbsp;the One Kilburn Digital Platform hosted on Commonplace and successfully bidding for Arts Council Funding to refurbish Kilburn Library, amongst many others. Key to the success of One Kilburn is the close partnership working with local representatives and stakeholders. This includes working in collaboration with the London Borough’s of Brent and Westminster as well as the GLA.&nbsp; The role also involves working closely with the Council’s Participation Team and wide range of internal services. &nbsp; The post holder will need transferable skills and adaptability to work on other regeneration projects across the work programme of the Area Regeneration Team, as required.&nbsp; The wider Area Regeneration programme includes a variety of projects including: Camden High Street Pedestrianisation Trial; Kentish Town Regis Road/ Camden Film Quarter; Securing funding such as £7.7m of Levelling Up Funding for a Healthy and Connected Neighbourhood in Gospel Oak; The Neighbourhood and Vacant Spaces programmes- Activating vacant spaces through co-creation for community benefit. &nbsp; The post come with line management responsibilities and as one of the teams four Area Regeneration Managers you will be expected to be an inspiring and compassionate leader within the team. &nbsp; As a manager you will lead by example to support and encourage diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking within the workplace and in the delivery of our services to create a truly inclusive directorate.&nbsp; About you We are looking for a pro-active and dedicated Area Regeneration Manager to be part of a dynamic team. If you possess good communication skills and are well organised with a diplomatic approach, then you could have just the right qualities to undertake the CEO role. You will be based at the Council Offices in Kings Hill but you will work across various locations within the Borough; and as well as assisting members of the public, you’ll patrol parking areas, monitor ticket machines and issue Penalty Charge Notices.
A full UK driving licence, and the ability to work well as part of a team, are essential as are your excellent customer service skills. Our Civil Enforcement Officers represent the public face of the Council, therefore it is essential that you possess a courteous, helpful and confident manner.
Patrols are carried out on foot and in vehicles, you will use a hand held capture device, make concise notes and deal tactfully with members of the public. The job involves weekend and evening working on a shift basis.
You will assist in continuing to provide a safe roadside environment which is our priority, we prevent dangerous and inconsiderate parking, which will help assist traffic flow, improve access to homes and businesses, and keep public transport on the move all over our Borough.
