Listening Volunteers provide ongoing face-to-face support to visitors on regular, fortnightly 4-hour shifts during which they meet with up to 3 visitors (for up to 50 minutes each). In order to ensure continuity for our visitors we require a one-year minimum commitment from our LVs, as well as three months’ notice of intention to leave.
\n
No experience or qualifications are necessary – we provide full training in active listening. We look for warmth, empathy and resilience in our volunteers and the ability to be non-judgemental and avoid giving advice.
\n
We are primarily recruiting Listening Volunteers for our new site near Liverpool Street. We also have limited vacancies available at our other sites in Hammersmith, Pimlico and Kings Cross.
\n
You can find out more about volunteering with The Listening Place here: https://listeningplace.org.uk/volunteer/
\n
You can submit an application form via our website here: https://volunteertraining.listeningplace.org.uk/volunteer-application-form
","shortDescription":"","salaryDescription":"Voluntary - unpaid","publishDate":"2025-03-24T14:31:00.000Z","expirationDate":"2026-06-30T13:29:00.000Z","logoUri":"https://www.jobsgopublic.com/logos/logos/2d5bfd7c-2496-4ac0-a1c1-3f5f7e3d3785.png","score":1,"featured":false,"enhanced":false}],"totalResults":8,"page":1,"pageSize":20,"facets":{"ContractType":{"1":5,"2":1,"4":2},"WorkingPatterns":{"1":6,"2":2},"EmployerType":{"charity/voluntary":3,"local government":2,"social housing":3},"PublishDate":{"1":0,"2":1,"3":3,"4":5,"5":8},"LocationType":{"2":3,"3":5},"JobTypes":{"administration":4,"community":8,"customer service":1,"housing":2,"management":1,"planning":1,"social care":4}},"randomNumber":0,"noOfFeaturedJobs":0,"bounds":[{"lat":51.57774,"lng":-0.3359656},{"lat":51.531967,"lng":-0.3359656},{"lat":51.531967,"lng":-0.2614222},{"lat":51.57774,"lng":-0.2614222},{"lat":51.57774,"lng":-0.3359656}],"error":null}},"dataUpdateCount":1,"dataUpdatedAt":1746816364660,"error":null,"errorUpdateCount":0,"errorUpdatedAt":0,"fetchFailureCount":0,"fetchFailureReason":null,"fetchMeta":null,"isInvalidated":false,"status":"success","fetchStatus":"idle"},"queryKey":["jobs",null,"wembley",null,null,{},{"contractType":[],"workingPatterns":[],"locationType":[],"jobTypes":["community"],"employerType":[],"datePosted":5},2,1],"queryHash":"[\"jobs\",null,\"wembley\",null,null,{},{\"contractType\":[],\"datePosted\":5,\"employerType\":[],\"jobTypes\":[\"community\"],\"locationType\":[],\"workingPatterns\":[]},2,1]"},{"state":{"data":[{"value":"Community","slug":"community"}],"dataUpdateCount":1,"dataUpdatedAt":1746816364495,"error":null,"errorUpdateCount":0,"errorUpdatedAt":0,"fetchFailureCount":0,"fetchFailureReason":null,"fetchMeta":null,"isInvalidated":false,"status":"success","fetchStatus":"idle"},"queryKey":["jobTypesAutocomplete","community"],"queryHash":"[\"jobTypesAutocomplete\",\"community\"]"}]}
