We would like to welcome you to Greenacre Academy, a single sex secondary boys school with a large joint sixth form in partnership with the neighbouring girls school. The academy has recently been successful in gaining multi academy trust status, offering many more opportunities across our trust as it develops.

Our students have demonstrated consistently strong improvements over a sustained period of time and we are always keen to innovate to deliver the very best education for our pupils.

Our recent OFSTED in March 2014 resulted in a GOOD rating and commented that, “Leadership of the academy is strong. The Headteacher, together with senior leaders, governors and staff, is ambitious for students’ success and has worked hard to raise standards by improving the quality of teaching. As a result, achievement is improving rapidly and students are well prepared for the next stage of their lives.”

Construction Instructor/Teacher required September 2017

Greenacre Academy requires an experienced multi-trader or a trader with a focus area who is happy to learn basic skills in other areas, from industry to come on board to become a constructor trainer/assessor for their students. This is an all-boys secondary academy in Medway where we have an opportunity for an instructor/teacher of construction to join our department.

The department has a newly established construction department which offers the Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. The department is incredibly successful and is interested in someone with industry experience who can share their knowledge and prepare students for apprenticeships and further embed the schools vision of Skills For Life.

Previous experience is desired along with holding a teaching qualification and/or an assessors award. However if they are willing to train individuals and take them through their qualifications then please get in contact to ask for more information. We are looking for someone who is passionate about construction and about helping prepare students for the world of work. You will work alongside a strong and motivated team, who are committed to ensuring that our pupils make outstanding progress.

We can offer support to complete teacher training if this is desired and further career development within the education sector if this is something that is of interest. We also offer a laptop, outstanding resources and a particularly supportive environment.

The Board of Governors are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

For further information and an application form please contact Mr Dan Wise, Acting Deputy Headteacher. To arrange an informal visit, please contact Dan Wise on 01634 861593 or
