Epsom and Ewell Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for a Contract and Procurement Support Officer to join the Corporate Governance Team to support procurement exercises and assist with the introduction of an e-tendering system.
This is a brand new role and we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to support the Council’s procurement function. You will support the ongoing development of the procurement function through the administration of the purchase order system and e-tendering system, reviewing patterns of spend and supporting the governance workload. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the Council achieves best value and complies with contract standing orders and all EU procurement legislation and be involved in developing the Council’s contract monitoring and management function.
You should have some experience in procurement or a similar field, proven experience of working with IT systems as well as an analytical approach to your workload. You’ll be able to manage your own workload, and work successfully to set deadlines in a changing and pressurised environment. You will need to be able to communicate effectively, both internally and externally, and have the ability to pass on your knowledge. You should also have good problem solving skills with the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly.
