About the role
We are looking for a talented communications professional to manage all communications activity and lead on creating engaging campaigns profiling some of our most important issues. These include homes for local people and our Community Investment Programme – the Council’s flagship regeneration and infrastructure project which is investing in housing, schools and community facilities.

In this role you will deliver creative campaigns that are strategic, evidence based and which make good use of all of our channels. You will be confident and capable of providing expert communications advice to senior officers and elected members of the Council. You will be skilled at planning, delivering and evaluating high quality communications and engagement strategies and will use your excellent writing skills to deliver engaging copy about Camden’s priorities tailored to a wide range of audiences.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of work relating to strategic priority campaigns aligned to our Camden Plan. You will provide the main link between services and communications and provide relationship management with senior colleagues and elected members. You will be responsible for prioritising, creating and evaluating a diverse range of multi-media campaigns and negotiating resources (staff and budget) with the Strategic Communications Manager. The Core Communications Lead will be accountable for quality and will contribute to our strategic communications plan. You will deliver high quality, evidence-based communications plans to meet the needs of the organisation.
About you
The Ideal candidate will be educated to degree level qualification or have the relevant equivalent work experience. You will have a wide range of working knowledge in various communications channels including digital, media and marketing skills. You will have a proven track record delivering evidence based campaigns and evaluating the impact of mediums used. You will also have strong account management, emergency planning, project management and service planning skills coupled with excellent budget management experience and assigning of resources to projects. It would be desirable if you have provided strategic advice to board level, senior officers and elected members to achieve desired outcomes and have experience in dealing with crisis communications.
