Whatever your current circumstances, you could be the next member of Uttlesford District Council’s Customer Service Team.

Uttlesford is a thriving predominantly rural District in north-west Essex equal in size to half of Greater London, with international air (Stansted Airport), road and rail networks. With both new development and an historic and rural environment it offers the best quality of life in England and Wales.

We are looking for a Customer Service Advisor on a full time basis (37 hours) based on office opening hours 8.30am to 5.00pm.

The postholder will be part of the Customer Service Team, ensuring that as many enquiries as possible are resolved at the first point of contact to maximise customer satisfaction. Enquiries will be dealt with via the telephone and face-to-face giving advice and assistance on the whole range of District Council services as well as County, Parish, and the local community and other partner organisations. Enquiries will be dealt with by using various systems.

We are looking for a good communicator at all levels including telephone, face-to-face and written, who is patient and cheerful and able to work under pressure. Ideally, the candidates will have extensive computer experience (although training will be given). The ability to provide an excellent service to all customers contacting the Council in accordance with the Council’s Customer Care Standards and ensures that a positive image of the Council is conveyed to all customers.

The postholder will be expected to work at any of the Customer Service Centres at Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow and Thaxted, so there is a high demand for the post holder to be flexible. A full clean driving licence is essential along with the ability to travel to these areas, often at short notice.
