We deliver key reading, health, learning, information, digital and culture offers including IT support, clubs and activities, access to digital resources and a thriving events programme to ensure we improve residents’ lives.</p><p>Baldock Library is a busy and vibrant library on the high street that offers a wide range of events and activities for adults and children. These include Baby Rhyme Time, Story Time, Lego Club, Page One alongside IT support for customers using our PCs and printing facilities. Customer Service Assistants are required to be involved in all aspects of the stock work and support with events held on Saturdays.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>The role of Customer Service Assistant is varied and directly contributes to the success of our libraries through working collaboratively to deliver excellent customer service, IT support, information services and resources to our library users and assisting with ad hoc library activities as required.</p><p>You will be a friendly and confident person who is happy to work in a customer facing role. You will be competent using computer packages for logging and searching for information. With highly developed interpersonal skills you will be confident in advising residents of how to dispose of their waste. Ability to remain calm under pressure, work safely and follow procedures.  Be able to maintain a high level of service in all weather conditions.  Have experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort.  Be able to support and manage a team of operatives. Be the first aider and fire marshal on site.</p><p>All training is provided including but not limited to First Aid, Fire Marshall, Manual Handling and Plant.
