Who We Are
Are you interested in bringing your support and communication skills to an organisation that plays a vital role in the democratic process?
The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections and encourages people to register to vote.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and skilled professional to support our Planning and Performance Team, helping to coordinate with a wide variety of tasks relating to reporting on performance, risk, benefits and internal audit, as well as supporting delivery of a range of projects and programmes.
This is a genuine opportunity to develop, particularly in the fields of planning and project/performance/benefit management, as you help to deliver project management training to improve skills across the organisation. The role will also provide support for our management of risks and internal audit recommendation programme of work, and will also be required to provide secretariat for meetings.
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have experience in a performance or project or support environment, with a qualification in this area being advantageous but not essential.
Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and IT skills are essential for this role, in particular Microsoft Excel and working on spreadsheets, tables and charts. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Visio for process mapping and experience using visualisations is advantageous.
With experience working in fast paced environments, the successful candidate will be proactive, have a desire to add value, be quick to learn and take responsibility when they are given the opportunity.
Working at the Electoral Commission
The Electoral Commission offers excellent terms and conditions, including flexible working hours, and the opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements (dependent on scheme rules) which include a valuable range of benefits.
We want to attract the broadest range of talented people who are passionate about democracy. The more diverse our workforce, the better we can adapt to and reflect the needs of society. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and as a staff member you will become part of an inclusive culture, where you will have the opportunity to achieve your full potential and enhance your career through learning and development.
