This includes the Building a Fairer Newham Corporate Plan including focus on community wealth building initiatives, tackling the housing crisis, inequality and racial disproportionality and achieving tangible outcomes in tackling the borough’s declared Climate Emergency through our new Just Transition Plan. </p> <p>Alongside these corporate priorities, the Planning Service is integral to the delivery and growth of c.2800 new homes targeted per year, 31 Strategic Sites, an Enterprise Zone, Opportunity Area Planning Framework, large scale and distinctive employment-generating schemes, and major infrastructure projects underway. Alongside delivering the current Local Plan, the policy team is in the midst of producing a new Local Plan – shaping the borough for the next 15 years.
