As a Senior Cashier, you will be responsible for ensuring that payments made to the Councils are processed accurately and on time. You will play a key role in cash receipting, maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and assisting with payment-related queries.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual with excellent numeracy and communication skills who can work to deadlines in a pressurised environment. Knowledge of Excel would also be an advantage.
You will support both internal and external customers by taking payments over the telephone and investigating payment queries using problem-solving skills, both in writing and over the phone, with occasional face-to-face interactions.
Strong IT skills and attention to detail are essential, as you will be responsible for updating accounts accurately to reflect payments received.
A background in a financial environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Basic DBS clearance and three years employment referencing.
