To support complex SEND in the Mead Primary School SEND Unit
Salary: Main Scale/UPR + SEN Allowance
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent
Reports to: SEND Unit Lead Teacher
Staff managed: SEND Unit support staff team
We are seeking to appoint an experienced primary teacher with a passion and expertise in supporting children with high needs to work with our ASD/SEN pupils in the Mead SEND Unit.
The SEND Unit teacher will manage a dedicated team of learning support staff who have a wide range of knowledge, skills and SEND knowledge.
In addition to the main responsibilities of a Teacher, working alongside the SEND Unit Lead teacher, you will also carry the responsibilities set out below:
- Day to day running of the SEND Unit - timetables, meetings, outside agencies, curriculum, integration of children, including Intimate care as required
- Planning and delivering a personalised curriculum, working on children’s targets, interventions and activities (whole class, 1-1 and small group)
- Liaising with parents and for IEP Reviews and Annual EHCP Reviews
- Liaising with external agencies within the Local Authority (CAD 0-5 and 5-19)implementing targets from speech therapist, educational psychologist, occupational therapist, CAMHS
- Support Staff Development through performance management & leading CPD
- Liaison with the Inclusion team and Senior Leadership Team
