Based at a 27-bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will support individuals with specific needs, and offer a level of contact, support, and supervision to support our residents to reintegrate within society. You will be providing psychological assessments and support residents who have multiple and complex needs that need support from our staff teams to meet their personal goals. </p>\n<p><strong>Penrose Croydon:</strong> A 27-bed residential property specialising in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. We offer psychologically-informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.</p>\n<p><strong>Shift Pattern: </strong>22.5 hours per week, shift pattern to be agreed. </p>\n<p>This role is the equivalent of NHS band 8B</p>\n<p>Additional Support Benefits for this specific role include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clinical Supervision </li>\n<li>A CPD budget of £500 per annum</li>\n<li>Support from our Clinical Lead</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p>\n<p>We are looking for a self-starter who can proactively encourage others, take leadership and ownership for creating a positive psychologically informed environment. You will be able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively and will have a background in a similar role as a Forensic Psychologist. You will also need to be HCPC registered and have post-graduate doctoral level training. </p>\n<p><strong>What do we offer?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>25 days annual leave, increasing with the length of service</li>\n<li>Training and Development, including access to courses, upskilling, and progression plans</li>\n<li>Medicash includes discount gym memberships, routine optometry care, dental treatments, and physiotherapy treatments</li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Programme, including counselling</li>\n<li>Reflective Practice regular sessions with a therapist provided by an external provider to support Mental Health and Wellbeing.</li>\n<li>Life Assurance Scheme</li>\n<li>Cycle-to-work scheme</li>\n<li>Annual Staff Awards</li>\n<li>Regular all staff webinar - access to leadership team to ask any related questions </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>WHAT'S SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL HOLD?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide advice and guidance to the wider team on criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to resident/participant behaviours and engagement.</li>\n<li>Provide highly specialised psychological assessment for participants/residents with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of data from a variety of sources, which may include neuropsychological testing. </li>\n<li>Exercise full clinical responsibility for resident/participant psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team. </li>\n<li>Formulate and implement plans for various therapy routes and management of assessing mental health conditions based upon appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practice.</li>\n<li>Discuss and negotiate care plans with all relevant internal and external parties.</li>\n<li>Undertake highly skilled evaluations and make decisions about treatment options and provide guidance and consultation to other parties contributing to the resident/participant’s diagnosis, formulation, and intervention plan.</li>\n<li>Facilitate one to one and group workshops and interventions, workshops, PIE training, and support with implementation plans across the organisation.</li>\n<li>Ensure all work carried out is compliant with Health and Safety, CPD activities and HCPC requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. </p>\n<p><strong>KEY CRITERIA</strong></p>\n<p>What we are looking for:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPD (or equivalent awarding body)</li>\n<li>HCPC registration as an applied Psychologist with chartered status</li>\n<li>Previous experience working as a qualified forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs<strong> and </strong>a good understanding of the sector</li>\n<li>Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs</li>\n<li>Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision</li>\n<li>Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement</li>\n<li>Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise</li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Please refer to the JDPS attached for more details on the vacancy and our requirements/key criteria.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>WORKING FOR US</strong></p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT US</strong></p>\n<p>Social Interest Group (SIG) believes good care and support improve lives.
