A fantastic opportunity awaits you; a chance to join a dynamic and supportive PE department in a forward thinking school.
Due to a valued member of staff commencing their maternity leave in the Autumn term, we are seeking to appoint a Teacher of PE on a one-year fixed term basis. You will join a strong and supportive team of experts, who are fun, welcoming and creative. The successful candidate will be confident in teaching PE at KS3 and KS4 to all abilities. You will also be passionate about sharing their love of sport and fitness beyond the classroom through extra-curricular activities. You will be willing to teach a few lessons of either Maths or Science at KS3 as a second subject. Our schemes of work are extremely detailed and support and CPD would be provided.
In return for your passion, commitment and drive, we offer a highly supportive working environment, students who are keen to learn, and outstanding continued professional development opportunities. Our PE department benefits from modern accommodation and excellent facilities.
This is a very exciting time to join us. In November 2022, we joined King’s Group Academies (KGA), following an associate membership lasting nearly two years. We are really excited by the opportunities this is creating for sharing ideas and approaches across schools. At our last OFSTED inspection (November 2021), we were rated as ‘Good’ in all areas and the inspection team noted that:
“Pupils enjoy coming to their happy and inclusive school. There is a strong ethos of mutual respect, courtesy and care for others.”
“Pupils behave well in lessons and around school. They value the educational opportunities that they receive and want to succeed. Knowing their teachers have high expectations and want the very best for them encourages pupils to take pride in their work. Pupils confidently ask for help when they need it.”
We aspire to be rated ‘Outstanding’, driven by a core belief that all of our students deserve nothing but the best possible teaching and support in order to be happy, healthy and successful. We aim to deliver the best quality teaching and learning in a school where staff and students have respect for, and pride in themselves, their school and their community.
If you feel you have the necessary skills, mindset and determination to join us on our journey towards ‘outstanding,’ we would very much like to hear from you. Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed.
Closing date: Monday 12th May at 9am
Interviews: Week commencing Monday 12th May
Applications may be considered upon receipt so you are warmly encouraged to apply at the earliest possible opportunity.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken.
