About the role
Hammersmith and Fulham is a borough that benefits enormously from a rich diversity of iconic buildings, conservation areas, successful businesses, major centres of health and education and three famous football teams. It is also a highly desirable place to live. Constantly evolving and reshaping itself to meet the needs of its changing population in what is one of London’s most densely populated areas.
The council are hugely ambitious and constantly strive to be the best. Our newly combined Regeneration, Planning and Housing service is at the heart of what is to come. We are passionate about place-making, matching the expectations of our residents with high quality homes including affordable housing and creating places where people will aspire to live and work.
As a Deputy Team Leader within our enforcement team, you will advance your planning career in one of the top London boroughs. You’ll join a team which benefits greatly from an ‘all in it together’ approach. You will be fully supported, empowered and developed to perform at your very best.
You’ll find ample opportunity to make your mark, dealing with a range of casework which will include complex cases and prosecutions. You will find the range of work both stimulating and interesting and will have the opportunity to develop both the breadth and depth of your own expertise in enforcement, related legislation, cases and proactive projects.
As a planning professional with a breadth of expertise, key to your success in this role will be your ability to mediate, negotiate and influence in seeking resolutions. You will understand wider council objectives and the bigger picture.
Our Development Management Team is highly regarded and incredibly successful, consistently featuring in the top performing London Boroughs. We’ve achieved this by adopting lean processes, reducing bureaucracy and committing to developing and supporting our staff so they can perform at their very best.
We take a huge amount of pride in the fact that what we can offer here is the opportunity to be part of bigger projects than you’ll find at other authorities. This combined with an outstanding benefits scheme, excellent training opportunities and genuine career progression makes Hammersmith and Fulham the perfect place to advance your career.
We wish to make the application process as straightforward as possible and we just ask that you complete our online application form providing further information against just a couple of specific questions. You are also welcome to attach your CV to further support your application.
